The question is often asked. "What is the difference between Assisted Living and a Skilled Nursing home"?

A stay in a skilled nursing facility is usually temporary in nature and is focused on rehabilitation that is intended to prepare the resident to return to their independent apartment or home. Assisted living services typically provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, medications, and meal preparation however with the help of Home health services we can expand our scope of care. When seeking permanent accommodations one of the biggest differences that you will see from a consumer perspective is pricing. Due to regulatory requirements, skilled care may offer services that a long term resident will not need. These requirements drive the cost up to as much as three times the cost of assisted living. Many people who are no longer able to live alone will not qualify for Medicare and will need to pay privately for the cost of services.
